Alex Harvill Dies While Practicing World Record Jump

Alex Harvill was the at the Moses Lake Airshow at Lake Moses in Grant County, Washington practicing for a world record jump when he crashed. 28-year old Harvill was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Harvill was attempting a 351-foot record jump off a ramp. Harvill broke a world record in 2013, successfully completing a 297-foot jump. His jump this weekend would have landed him in the World Guinness Book of Records.

The Moses Lake Airshow released the following statement: We regret to report today at our first event of the airshow – the Guinness World Record Jump Attempt, Alex Harvill was injured during his warm-up before the jump and has been taken to the hospital. We do not have more information at this time regarding the incident.

Our hearts are with Alex and his family and wish him a speedy recovery. All proceeds from today’s jump will be donated to Alex to contribute to his medical expenses.

Harvill has competed in Supercross, Arenacross, Motocross and the Canadian MX National Series.
