Great American Shortcourse Returns to Victorville

Great American Shortcourse Returns to Victorville

The Great American Shortcourse series (GAS) returned to the Victorville Fairgrounds over the weekend for Rounds 5 & 6. The pits were full for two-days of racing.

One of the most competitive races both days was in the Pro Lite class. Saturday, Christopher Polvoorde went door to door with “Madman” Madix Bailey. In the end, Polvoorde took the victory. The story was different during Sunday’s Round 6. Jimmy Weitzel qualified on the pole. Madix Bailey started just next door. When the green flag dropped, Bailey rocketed out front. Christopher Polvoorde got collected with other trucks in the middle of the field. He would do everything he could to claw his way to the front. Weitzel regained the lead and stayed there the rest of the race. Polvoorde managed to finish second with Bailey third.

In Pro2, Ricky Gutierrez was back on the west coast racing the GAS series. Both days he beat Dave Mason Jr for the top spot on the podium. Matt Brister was number one on the podium in Round 5. He wasn’t so lucky in Round 6 after mechanical problems. Trevor Briska was the winner in Round 6.

In Mod Kart, Trey Eggleston took the top spot on the podium after Connor Barry had mechanical problems. Barry was back in number one on Round 6. Dallas Nord swept the weekend in the Production 1000 UTV class.

The Great American Shortcourse Series returns to Glen Helen for the final rounds November 13th and 14th.
