Best in the Desert Shifts Opening Round to King of the Hammers

After announcing the cancellation of the Parker 250 & 450 races, Best in the Desert officials are partnering with King of the Hammers to hold their first event of the year. King of the Hammers already has a series of desert races on the schedule and at this time it appears Best in the Desert racers will fit right into those slots.

The races will only feature car and truck classes. “Obviously this decision is due in part to the cancellation of the Parker events.  Immediately following our announcement last Tuesday, Dave Cole reached out to me and we began to discuss the opportunity to bring Best In The Desert to King of the Hammers,” said Bryan Folks.

The Golden State 250 in California City has been moved back one week to February 25th to allow racers time to prep vehicles after the Hammers. Both events will be “throwaway” races. Both organizations still have to work out details such as how points, laps, entries and technical inspection will be handled. Desert events at King of the Hammers begin February 3rd, 2023.
