The end of Dakar rally is rapidly approaching with one stage left. The race is tighter than ever in the bike class as the rally continued through the famous dunes of Saudi Arabia. Today was one of the longer stages in the rally with competitors logging 419 miles.
Red Bull KTM rider Kevin Benavides claimed the Stage 13 win, Saturday. Benavides stopped to look after his teammate, Matthias Walkner who crashed hard. Officials gave Benavides the missed time back on his record. Walkner was airlifted to the hospital with pain in his lower back. Seconds separate Toby Price and Benavides in the overall rankings with just one stage to go before a winner of the rally is determined. Skyler Howes is sitting third overall.
In the T3 class, Mitch Guthrie Jr gained another victory. Austin Jones continues to the top the overall standings ahead of rival Seth Quintero.
In the car class, Sebastien Loeb continues his winning streak finishing once again on the podium. His streak however may not be enough to move ahead of Nasser Al-Attiyah who is poised to take the overall win if he finishes the final stage.
