A simple Instagram video post confirmed Eli Tomac will return to racing with Yamaha. The post appeared on Tomac’s instgram page and was also posted by Yamaha Motor USA with the caption “The multi-time champ returns with the Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha team for a third season and is eager to line up behind the gate. We can’t wait to go racing.
The announcement comes just over a month before the big three Supermotocross playoff events. Neither Yamaha nor Tomac have confirmed his participation in the playoff events. The details of Tomac’s deal have not been disclosed.
Tomac’s season came to an end in Denver with just one round to go before the final event. Tomac ruptured his Achilles tendon closing out any hopes of winning the Supercross Championship.
