BLM Gives Best in the Desert Green Light for Vegas to Reno

Best in the Desert has officially secured their permit to run the Vegas to Reno race from the Nevada office of the Bureau of Land Management. The course is already marked for the 521-mile course. More than 230 motorcycles, trucks and UTV’s will take the green flag Friday morning for the legendary race that winds its way through some of Nevada’s roughest terrain.

Best in the Desert CMO Bryan Folks made an announcement about the permit in a Facebook live video last Friday. “I am pretty excited about that. It’s been a long hard road to get back to where we are today,” said Folks. He also thanked all of the people that were involved in helping to get the Vegas to Reno race off the ground.

The race is named after the late Casey Folks. Best in the Desert has had some trouble securing permits this year and was forced to cancel its opening event in Parker, Arizona. Several other events were also rescheduled. Events for Vegas to Reno kick off Wednesday with time trials in the Armargosa Valley.
