Round two of the FIM World Supercross Championship was held in the United Arab Emirates over the weekend. The series landed at Eithad Arena in Yas Island for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The main event was full of twists, turns and high energy.
Joey Savatgy emerged with the victory after a 1-4-2 performance. On Savatgy’s heels was Dean Wilson who secured second place in the standings. Meantime, defending champion Ken Roczen seemed to struggle as he started in the back row of all three final events. Roczen would work his way up to fourth, just shy of the podium spots.
Over in the SX2 class, Max Anstie claimed the overall win. Much like Roczen in his class, defending champion Shane McElrath struggled from the back leaving a second championship in jeopardy. The series will head to Australia later this month for the final event of the year.
