FORD debuted a custom electric F-150 Lightning SwitchGear truck. The truck designed specifically for off-road is a prototype with collaboration from Vaughn Gittin Jr and his RTR FunHaver team. Inspiration from the truck came from the 2016 RTR Fun-Haver project truck.
The truck has all of the off-road accessories one would come to expect on an extreme performance vehicle including Fox 3-inch internal bypass shocks. The bumpers were designed to improve approach and departure angles. The vehicle has a double-wishbone suspension at the front and multi-link independent suspension at the rear. There are rock rails, skid plat and limit straps. Inside, the seats feature a Recaro harness system.
The truck has NITTO Ridge Grappler 37-inch tires. Vaughn Gittin has been putting the F-150 Lightning Switchgear through its paces. Ford will have the truck on display at the upcoming King of the Hammers for an up-close look.
