Best in the Desert Replaces Nevada 1000

The Nevada 1000 has been removed from the Best in the Desert Schedule. The series is instead replacing the 3-day event with a 1-day Silver State 300 race.

“This was not an easy call,” said Bryan Folks, owner of Best In The Desert. “We put a lot of effort into developing the Nevada 1000 because we believe it has the potential to become one of the premier off-road races in the United States. However, the timing just isn’t right. The last thing off-road racing needs is an event that doesn’t draw enough participation to justify the investment. Instead, we are returning to a proven favorite—the Silver State 300.”

The date will also change on the race. The Silver State 300 will be held on May 10th and feature a 330-mile course with six pit spots. The course will also be faster this year. The $50,000 purse prize will still be valid for the Silver State 300.
