Lucas and Sacha Coenen will make the move from the FIM Motocross World Championship to the AMA SuperMotocross Championship in 2027 after signing multi-year contract extensions with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. The Belgian twins have established themselves as two of the sport’s brightest young stars. Lucas, currently competing in the MXGP class aboard the KTM 450 SX-F, has already claimed multiple Grand Prix victories and finished runner-up in the 2025 MXGP championship during his rookie premier-class season. Sacha has also been a consistent MX2 front-runner and remains in championship contention in 2026.
Beginning in 2027, Lucas will compete in the AMA 450SX/MX class, while Sacha will race the 250SX/MX class. Their exact East/West Supercross scheduling has yet to be determined. The brothers got an early taste of American racing with a wildcard appearance at Thunder Valley, an experience Lucas described as helping confirm his desire to make the move to the United States.
“This is a dream to make this move,” Lucas said. Sacha added that while there will be plenty to learn, the opportunity is exactly what they want.
The Coenen brothers will remain focused on completing the 2026 MXGP season before turning their attention toward their new chapter in the United States.
