Prado Extends SMX Points Lead as Beaumer Wins 250 Overall in Carson
Jorge Prado strengthened his position atop the 450SMX championship standings Saturday night at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, earning the overall victory in the second round of the 2026 Monster Energy SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs. Prado went 2-2 across the two motos to claim the overall win, while Hunter Lawrence charged to a 4-1 finish for second overall. Ken Roczen, who won the opening 450 moto, finished third overall with a 1-4 score. Prado’s consistent 2-2 scorecard gave him the overall victory and further increased his championship advantage heading into the final round. The KTM rider has now finished on the podium in all four playoff motos.
In the 250SMX class, Julien Beaumer captured the overall victory with a 1-3 moto score. Ryder DiFrancesco finished second overall with a 2-5 score, while Levi Kitchen completed the podium after rebounding from a seventh-place finish in Moto 1 to win the second moto. Jo Shimoda was fourth overall with a 6-2 finish. Cole Davies endured a difficult night, going 4-22 for 14th overall after crashing out of the second moto.
The 2026 SMX World Championship will conclude September 26 at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri, where the championship will be decided with triple points on the line.
