The FIM World Supercross Championship will not proceed with its scheduled British GP in Birmingham, England, as SX Global works to secure significant new investment for the championship. SX Global, the commercial and promotional rights holder for World Supercross, announced Sept. 21 that discussions with potential investors are progressing as the company looks to strengthen the series and establish a more sustainable platform for its teams, riders, partners and fans.
The British GP was scheduled for Oct. 10 at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium and was set to be Round 2 of the 2026 championship. SX Global said the timing of the investment process required short-term operational measures, resulting in the decision to cancel the event. Ticket holders will receive information directly from Ticketmaster, with refunds automatically processed to the original method of payment. SX Global said refunds are expected to be received within 14–21 days.
The championship opened its 2026 season Aug. 8 in Calgary, Canada, and remains scheduled to visit Buenos Aires, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand later this year.
World Supercross teams issued a joint statement supporting the efforts to position the championship for the future and said they remain committed to racing when the series returns.
