Dylan Ferrandis has announced that he will retire from professional racing following this weekend’s 2026 SuperMotocross World Championship Final, bringing an end to one of the most successful careers by a French rider in American motocross and Supercross. Ferrandis, 32, will make his final professional appearance September 26 at the SMX World Championship Final in Ridgedale, Missouri. The 2026 season has been his first with the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing Team as the French manufacturer made its debut in the U.S. Supercross championship.
The Frenchman leaves the sport as a four-time AMA champion. Ferrandis captured back-to-back 250SX West titles in 2019 and 2020 before moving into the 450 class and winning the 2021 AMA Pro Motocross Championship in his first full season in the premier outdoor class.
Ferrandis spent much of his career with Star Racing Yamaha before moving to Phoenix Racing Honda and eventually joining Ducati for its inaugural U.S. racing program. He played an important role in developing the Ducati Desmo450 MX, bringing years of experience to the manufacturer’s new motocross effort.
Ferrandis will get one final opportunity to add to his career résumé this weekend when the gate drops on the SMX World Championship Final, where he will make his final professional start before stepping away from full-time competition.
