Legacy Racing Association has canceled its 2026 Gold Rush off-road race, which was scheduled to run from Virginia City to Tonopah, Nevada, in October. The approximately 350-mile point-to-point race had been scheduled for the weekend of October 8-10, with qualifying set for Thursday, October 8, registration and technical inspection in Virginia City on Friday, and the main race on Saturday, October 10.
Legacy Racing cited rising fuel prices and other factors as the reasons behind the cancellation. The announcement comes less than three weeks before the scheduled race date. The Gold Rush has become a major event on Legacy Racing’s calendar, bringing motorcycles, quads, cars, trucks and UTVs together for the challenging run across Nevada. The event has traditionally started in the Virginia City area before finishing in Tonopah.
The cancellation is another change to Legacy Racing’s 2026 schedule as the organization continues its season of off-road competition throughout the West.
