“Bam Bam” Barcia Wins Supercross Opener on the Gas Gas

Justin “Bam Bam” Barcia was on the Gas Gas. Literally. Barcia won his heat race, then went out and dominated the Supercross main event. Barcia is riding for the Gas Gas motorcycle company this year. This is the first time Gas Gas has had a supercross bike. Ken Roczen had to settle for second place.

The Supercross season opener was moved to Houston, Texas this year due to COVID-19 restrictions in California. Normally the opener is held in at Anaheim Stadium. A limited audience of 10,830 attended the event with social distancing requirements.

In the Eastern Regional 250 class, Christian Craig took over the lead early in the race. Behind Craig was Austin Forkner and Colt Nichols. The next two rounds are scheduled back in Houston Tuesday January 19th and Saturday January 23rd.
