The San Felipe 250 is just over a week away. The course has been marked and pre-running is open for the race. Race mileage totals 280.2 with 82 virtual checkpoints. The San Felipe 250 is the opening round for the SCORE Desert Series.
“This course will be faster and way more fun than many years,” commented Jose Grijalva, starting his ninth season in the SCORE administration. “We have some new sections and some road maintenance that we are doing to help make San Felipe fun again. But, don’t worry, there are still lots of rocks, silt and washes to navigate.
The San Felipe 250 will start and finish without spectators due to COVID-19 protocols. All activities will be held at the El Dorado Ranch just outside of the town of San Felipe. The course will wind through five washes including Azufire, Huatamote, Chanate, Amarillas and Las Cuevitas. It winds through a new section to connect with Morella Road. The entire race course will be run south of Highway 3, a first in several years.
The race will start Saturday morning, April 17th.
