Ken Roczen will officially compete in the recently formed FIM World Supercross Championship. Additionally, Eli Tomac will compete as a wild card rider in the opening round. The series is set to begin October 8th at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The two arch rivals are expected to battle it out in an action filled start to the season at the first event which will be known as the British Grand Prix.
“Ken Roczen is an absolute superstar of supercross, recognized across the globe. To have him compete in our inaugural season as we usher in a new, global era of supercross, is nothing short of incredible,” said Adam Bailey, Managing Director – Motorsport of SX Global. “Ken embodies all the qualities that make supercross athletes, the toughest and most inspirational athletes in the world. It’s only fitting that he becomes one of our marquee challengers for the 2022 FIM World Championship crown.”
This year is the inaugural season for the FIM World Supercross Championship. Events will take place October through November. 2022 will serve as the “pilot season” for the series. In 2023, twelve events are scheduled between June and November.
