Eli Tomac Gets Back to Back Wins

Eli Tomac had another successful weekend at the Lucas Oil Outdoor Motocross Championship Series. Tomac came away with another overall win at the latest round at Red Bud MX in Buchanan, Michigan.

In the first 450 moto, Tomac was on a mission with the lead and the holeshot. Tomac never looked back and the rest of the field never caught him. Chase Sexton finished the moto in second, 6.3 seconds behind Tomac. Joey Savatgy finished third. In the second moto, Justin Barcia had the holeshot. Ken Roczen quickly moved into the top spot with Eli Tomac nearby. As the laps ticked away, Tomac inched closer to Roczen. With 15-minutes to go in the moto, Tomac made his move for the lead and the rode home for another win. Chase Sexton still has the points lead by seven over Tomac.

In the 250 class, the first moto saw Hunter Lawrence out front with the holeshot. Jo Shimoda and Jett Lawrence were running second and third. As the battle continued for several laps, Jett made an aggressive pass on a downhill section for the lead. With 10-minutes remaining in the moto, Jett’s bike came to a stop with a mechanical issue. Hunter re-took the lead with Shimoda hot on his heels. Shimoda’s persistence paid off, and he earned his first career moto podium. Stilez Robertson finished third.  In the second moto, Ryder Difrancesco took the holeshot in his pro debut. Seth Hammaker got by for the lead but ended up crashing. Hunter Lawrence worked his way to the front with Jett in tow. Jett made another move to get to the front leading his brother Hunter by 16 seconds.
