Friday’s stage 6 special was shortened to 221 miles. The recent rains had modified the course making the ground solid which allowed easy access for the competitors. Once they got into the dunes, it was a different story.
Skyler Howes moved into overall lead on Stage 5 in the bike class and continues to hold that position. His closest competitor is Toby Price. Howes finished in a consistent 2nd place during today’s stage with Luciano Benavides taking his first victory.
In the T3 class it was Guillaume De Mevius with the top finish and Austin Jones coming second. De Mevius now has the overall lead in that class. Jones will need some stage victories to get into the overall top spot.
In the car class, Nasser Al-Attiyah continues to lead overall. Al-Attiyah backed it up with a stage 6 win.
