Defending SCORE Trophy Truck Champion Luke McMillin kicked off the SCORE International Off-Road season with a win in San Felipe. Toby Price was the top qualifier, starting out front with clean air. Price’s lead only lasted for the first hour of the race before getting passed by some of the fastest Trophy Truck drivers in the series. Among the top racers In the pack were Tavo Vildolsola, Alan Ampudia, Bryce Menzies and of course Luke who started fourth. Menzies who has won the San Felipe 250 in previous years finished third, towing competitor Vildolsola across the finish line.
“I’m really excited, really grateful to be able to pull off another win. – It was awesome. We had a perfect day. We just cruised all day. We just stopped one time at our planned pit stop and took 18 seconds of fuel, that was it. Not a single flat tire, “said Luke McMillin.
After a review of penalties by SCORE officials, the class 1 win was awarded to Cody Parkhouse. Gustavo Vildolsola senior brought home a win in the Trophy Truck legends class. In the highly competitive Trophy Spec truck class, Thor Herbst came out on top. In the UTV class beating out 67 other competitors across five classes was Rodrigo Ampudia. Ciaran Naran and Tuker Hopkins pulled off a surprising win in the unlimited motorcycle class. Justin Buckley claimed a win in class 10.
Next up for SCORE International is the Baja 500 on May 31st.
