Extreme E has announced the Hydro X Prix in May will be held at the former Glenmuckloch opencast coal mine site. The site is located in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The former cola mine is undergoing the next phase of its major transformation into a Pumped Storage and Hydropower plant and wind farm. The location is a perfect backdrop for an electric racing series that brings attention to climate change and global solutions.
Extreme E is a unique sport for purpose racing series. We are thrilled to be headed to Scotland in May for the Hydro X Prix, and we could not have found a more perfect racing site than the former Glenmuckloch coal mine, said Extreme E CEO Alejandro Agag.
The Hydro X Prix will take place May 13th and 14th.
